Mission

The Mission of St. Paul’s is to fulfill . . .

1) The Great Goal: To Glorify and Enjoy God in all we say, do, and think,

2) The Great Commandments: To Love God with all that we are and to love our neighbours as ourselves,

3) The Great Commission: To Go into the world to make and be faithful followers of Jesus the Christ.

We seek to do so as a part of a local, national, ecumenical, and global church of Jesus Christ.

Mission and Ministry During the Pandemic

a) We believe following Christ’s call to love another involves following the Provincial / National Health Guidelines of mask wearing, social distancing, and getting vaccinated. As Christ humbled himself, did not insist on his rights, and chose instead to look to the needs of others before his own, so we seek to follow Christ’s example.

b) We believe the ministry and mission of the church is not limited to a building, but occur as God’s scattered people in the world care and support each other, seek justice, provide assistance to neighbours and people near and far, and give witness to Christ our Lord and Redeemer through their words and actions inspired by Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

c) We believe in the small stuff of ministry and mission that keep us connected together: prayer, zoom / phone calls, texts, emails, socially distanced conversations, providing services to friends and neighbors, financially supporting groups supporting those in need locally, provincially, nationally and globally.

Community Involvement
We take to heart Jesus’ call to be salt, light, and leaven in our community. We understand this calling as sharing our love and faith in Christ with others; demonstrating God’s love through gracious, just, and loving words and actions; being a positive witness and presence for Christ in our community as we are scattered into our community during the week.

We work in partnership with other local churches and agencies (i.e. Banff Ministerial Association, Banff and Bow Valley Food Banks, Homeless to Housing Initiative), national, and global churches and agencies that share the love Christ with others and reflect the values and character of Christ.

Bible Studies
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” (Matthew 7:24)

As the need and interest arise, we come together for study of the Bible, books by Christians authors, and other themes.

Share a Prayer
“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4:2).

Our Share a Prayer meets following worship on the second and fourth Sundays of the month in Clay’s Study.  We have a Prayer Box located in the entry way to the sanctuary by our Guest Book for anyone to submit their prayer requests and thanksgivings for the group to pray for. All who want to pray and want to be prayed for are welcome to attend.
